Brandon Nelson

Brandon Nelson is a strategic counselor and senior executive with more than 20 years of experience in complex commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance in the travel, transportation, hospitality, sports and entertainment industries.
As Chief Legal Officer at Legends, he leads the legal team and provides vital legal guidance in partner negotiations, regulatory issues, public policy, compliance, labor law, and risk assessment and mitigation. He also serves as a key leader on the executive team, providing counsel on corporate strategy and working alongside business leaders to achieve organizational goals.
Before joining Legends, Brandon spent nearly 20 years in leadership roles with increasing responsibilities at JetBlue Airways, most recently serving six years as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. In that position, he led the Legal, Ethics and Compliance, Sustainability, and JetBlue Ventures teams. Additionally, Brandon was a member of the Investment Committee of JetBlue Technology Ventures, the Silicon Valley venture capital subsidiary he co-founded, where he set the investment strategy for the fund and provided guidance on integrating portfolio companies’ technology into the parent company.
Earlier in his career, Brandon worked in the Mergers and Acquisitions group at Shearman & Sterling and managed his own law firm, where he represented small businesses and individuals in transactional matters. He is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors and is admitted to the state bars of California and New York, as well as the Supreme Court of the United States of America.
He earned an undergraduate degree in International Business with a concentration in Finance from Howard University and a Juris Doctorate Degree from New York University School of Law. Brandon currently resides in Brooklyn, NY with his wife and young daughter. His family loves to travel and explore the world, often visiting local art museums and galleries at every chance.
